It was back in February 2008 that the XPERIA lineup was born and it took Sony Ericsson almost two years to bring about the XPERIA X1 successor. The long waiting is over now and the XPERIA X2 is keen to prove to us all it was worth it.
Both devices obviously have lots of features in common (it's the same amount of memory - both RAM and ROM, and the same CPU) but there are - possibly - enough improvements to make the XPERIA X2 a strong successor and a valuable upgrade. And by telling you that, we don't only mean the more recent version of WinMo. 6.5 was never officially compatible with the original.

Anyway, the upgraded imaging is the greatest asset of the XPERIA X2 hardware and we're about to see how much it works in its favor.

Before we kick off though, a bit of family tree stuff. The XPERIA X2 is only the second PocketPC in the series after the X1. The X10 runs Android and so does the rumored Robyn, while the Pureness isn't even a smartphone. The XPERIA lineup comes in different shapes and sizes but it all started with Windows Mobile. The X2 is perfectly aware of that and comes to offer some all-round PocketPC skills and the aggressive styling of its forerunner.

As we said in the preview a few months back, there aren't many groundbreaking features to see, but the XPERIA X2 is definitely worth a look to check what it can actually do.

Well, if you're looking for Snapdragon speed, you won't find it here. There's no capacitive touchscreen either. And the X2 also skips an FM radio and its camera has no Xenon flash. But you get all the business benefits you would expect in a phone in this class, with some nice media too.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 packs the full range of connectivity options, hopefully a capable enough CPU, a comfy slide-and-tilt QWERTY keyboard, promising autofocus camera and, like its predecessor, it has a 3.5mm audio jack on board. The trackpad is also there (even if it's been redesigned).

As CNET News.com's Ina Fried reported earlier this week, Sony Ericsson has teamed up with Microsoft to release Windows Mobile smartphones and sure enough, the first such device was revealed at GSMA and its name is the Sony Ericsson EXPERIA X1. In the past, Sony Ericsson smartphones, such as the P1i, have used the Symbian mobile operating system (UIQ). The launch of the XPERIA line marks the debut of Windows Mobile on the company's devices. The X1 is the first in the series, and makes quite the impression.

It has a cool arc slider design (think Motorola Rizr Z8) with a 3-inch VGA touchscreen on the front, and a full QWERTY keyboard underneath. It's as attractive on the inside as it is on the outside. The proprietary XPERIA panel menu gives users the freedom to arrange the screen as they want.
The X1 is a quad-band, HSDPA/HUSPA, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi-enabled smartphone running Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition. It comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera, assisted GPS, a multimedia player, 400MB of internal memory, and microSD expansion slot.

The X1 has certainly been one of the hot products of GSMA, as evidenced by the number of people swarming around the phone at the Sony Ericsson booth. I'm hoping to shove my way in there today to get some hands-on time and photos of the device, so hold tight. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is scheduled to ship during the second half of 2008. Not to sound like a broken record, but there is still no word on pricing or U.S. availability.

Still remember Sony Ericsson Iduo that first appeared at MWC 2009? If you can’t remember that than you might have heard about the Sony Ericsson 12MP cameraphone that has been rumored around on the internet. Yes, the phone is now on the market, but marked as a new name as Sony Ericsson Satio. Despite being the first 12MP camera phone, the Sony Ericsson Satio was also awaited by many people because it is also a touchscreen smartphone that Sony Ericsson rarely produce. However it is worth to wait? Let’s check it out.
Design

For a fully touchscreen device that measures at 112 x 55 x 13 mm and 126 g, the Sony Ericsson Satio is obviously not a slim or small handset. However, the robust and solid built make it feel compact and won’t have causing too much of a bulge in a pocket. The front was dominated by a 3.5-inch resistive, touch sensitive screen with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. Although it is not AMOLED technology, but the display quality pretty good in brightness and contrast as well as the sunlight legibility. There are only three buttons on the front side – send, end and menu that located under the screen. There’s a screen lock and microSD slot, plus proprietary headphone jack/AV output to one side and camera shutter, camera/video switch, play button and zoom/volume buttons to the other side. Overall, the design of Sony Ericsson Satio is pretty stylish, though we prefer metal casing rather than this plastic one.

Sony Ericsson Aino is a semi-touch handset that was released last month. It is a multimedia slider phone that aiming the young generation. The eye-catching feature in this phone would be the ability to remotely control your PlayStation 3.the But don’t take it as a PSP phone, it is nothing to do with the gaming feature. In fact, it is playback content directly from your PS3. We will cover that later. So let see what’s else can this phone offers…
Design

As we know, the Sony Ericsson Aino is a semi-touch device. It come with a 3-inch, 240×320 resolution screen and it totally covers all the front panel. So if the slider don’t roll out, people will thing it is a fully touchscreen handset. Since it is a capacitive touchscreen, it is pleasant to ‘touch’ the screen and the pictures quality also is very good. However, the screen no longer touchable when the slider is open. The keypad is quite simple, a set of navigation on the top and numeric pad below it. There is nothing special about the keypad but when the keypad unveiled the phone is quite long. However when the keypad is close it is only measures 104 x 50 x 15.5 mm which is quite comfy to hold in hand with the weight of 134 g.

The name of Sony Ericsson Equinox TM717 maybe new to you, but when you look at the pictures you probably feel that the handset is seem so familiar…ermm…it is look like the stylish Sony Ericsson T707. Yes, you are right, the Sony Ericsson T707 has changed it name when land on US T-Mobile. There are already have a review on Sony Ericsson T707, so we not going to review this phone here. At the last review of Sony Ericsson T707, we were very satisfied with its stylish appearance. The handset has a very unique touches light effects on the cover. The light effects include a half-moon lighting array and an external display showing who is calling or texting by using the pulse light notification. It is also known as ‘rainbow’ are which can be assigned their own colors and the manufacturer claims this will help you easily recognize who´s calling.

The features in Sony Ericsson Equinox TM717 is pretty much basically the need for a phone- 3G support, a 3 mega pixel snapper, a M2 memory slot, FM radio, Gesture control and etc…consider it is only a midrange phone, we couldn’t expect more. Since the handset have A-GPS support, thus it is work with Google Maps and support for TeleNav. That’s mean you can have a navigation system in this stylish flip phone.

Frankly, the Sony Ericsson Equinox TM717 is more attractively on the outward appearance rather than the inner features. It is doesn’t mean the phone have come with lousy features, in fact the features is good but since there are many other well featured midrange handset out there like LG Cookie, Samsung S5600 , Nokia 6600 fold. It is hard for TM717 stand out. In a nutshell, if fashion is your concerns then choose Sony Ericsson TM717, otherwise you can look for better featured handset.

Sony Ericsson's latest release is not a cell phone but a speaker instead. The MS500 will come in trendy orange and black or chic white and pink to cater to both genders as the ultimate audio accessory to those who love sharing their music with friends and family alike. The MS500 comes with a durable splash proof shell and a handy strap which can be hooked to a bag or hung from the wrist. This ideal outdoor accessory might be relatively small in nature, but it can still be toted anywhere and everywhere.



You can forget about being tethered by a wire though as it relies on Bluetooth connectivity to function as a remote control that changes tracks and control the volume, letting you relax without having to fiddle with a couple of devices while wrestling with wires that seem to have a life of its on. Compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled handsets from Sony Ericsson and other brands, the MS500 is powered by a couple of AA batteries that last for approximately 5 hours. No idea on pricing as at press time though.

For lower cost, this model has gained a second wind. The minimum size of the shell, metal, nice view of the screen, good headphones are included. Music in the style of Walkman, but really - a phone for calls. Like everyone who likes to compact sets.
